A tragedy befell two Jewish people who were in love and they never recaptured their future together. The author left one with a feeling of hope, however. I admire Mr. Wiesenthal for his decision not to prosecute, not to sacrifice the living for the dead.
This book was amazing. I can't recommend it enough. I've never read anything like it-- a coming of age kind of novel (although it's set in the characters' mid-twenties) about women which isn't primarily concerned with their romantic lives and is utterly unconcerned about shopping. I've never recognized so many of my friends in a book before, there should be more like it.
